Search engines (2.) – Search in all of them at once

The purpose of this article is to introduce you a few not so well known Search engines.

Reason why you may consider using one of them is that if you are searching on Google, you get results only from Google index databases, but Search engines listed bellow are looking into databases of more sources, so you get for example results from Yahoo.com and Google.com together.

It is very useful thing providing better coverage of web and it is called metasearch.

Here is a list of some popular Search engines that are using metasearch technology.

Clusty.com

Clusty Search Engine

Clusty is a Search engine with nice and simple user interface.

Clusty queries several top search engine, combines the results and generate ordered list on comparative ranking.

You can sort results by clusters, sources and sites. Clusters help you to see search results sorted by topics so you can find unexpected relations between them. And here you are, that is where the name Clusty came from.

Another nice feature of Clusty is that you can open sites from search results in "frame like"preview. This allows you to quickly scan through content and decide if that is what you are looking for.

Metasearch, like I explained before, works in the way that you search for specific keyword and you get results from more search engines.
What Sputtr does is that it allows you to choose where you want to search – what search engine you would like to use.

So, you for example you can try to search for videos on YouTube and after that you try on Google Videos.
